Around the Bormio’s dell,
into the “Alpi Retiche”, spread the “Magnificent
Valleys” that constituted the ancient countryside and are nowadays
the central part of the Alta Valtellina territory.
West of Valdidentro, coinciding with the Foscagno Pass, is the European
watershed, separating the Po’s basin from the Inn-Danube’s
where the Livigno Valley is located, unusual from a geographic point
of view for its north to south orientation.
